flash from the past: 1950's dinner party

The fifties:  Eisenhower was President, Elvis was "King", TV's were warmed up to watch Leave it to Beaver, I Love Lucy, and Lawrence Welk.  Fashion included full skirted dresses, white t-shirts with rolled cuffed jeans, and single breasted gray flannel suits.  Casseroles, Bar-B-Q's, frozen vegetables, and meat loaf were all the rage.  Popular American foods introduced included Sugar Frosted Flakes, Peanut M&M's, Minute Rice, Butterball turkeys, Ruffles potato chips, Star-kist Brand Tuna, Tang, Duncan Hines cake mixes, Cheese Wiz, and Lawry's Seasoned Salt.  So... what is cooking on Larry and Vicki Schmidt's 1950's Wedgewood range or chilling in their 1950's Kelvinator Food-a-rama side by side refridgerator?  Gee (cheese) wiz...you are invited to taste again the "gourmet" offerings of the 50's in their Shell Beach home, built in...when else...1950!
