21st Annual Symphony
Ball & Auction

La Belle Époque
Saturday, February 28, 2009 - 6 pm
Grand Ballroom
Embassy Suites Hotel, San Luis Obispo

The time...turn of the 20th Century
The place...Paris, France
The experience...magnifiqué

The theme for this year’s black-tie event is "La Belle Epoque" meaning "the beautiful era" – a golden age between the late 1890s and the First World War when peace, innovation, and the arts flourished in Europe.

We invite you travel back in time with us and enjoy a belle soiree of dining and dancing at this season's Symphony Ball. Place your bids on fine Central Coast wine, gala parties, amazing getaways and more. Greet old friends, make new friends, sip champagne and be the first to congratulate this year's Symphony Honors recipient:  Pam Dassenko.  (more below...)

Symphony Honors

Established in 2007, the "Symphony Honors" award recognizes and honors an individual or a couple whose longstanding commitment to the success and vision of the San Luis Obispo Symphony has contributed to the vitality and reputation of the organization and made a difference in our community.  In 2008, the inaugural year for the award, we honored Clifford Chapman and Don Shidler for their longstanding and generous support of the Symphony as well as arts community as a whole.  This year...

On February 28, 2009, the Symphony will honor
Dr. Pamela M. Dassenko
Esteemed Concertmistress, successful dentist, music education advocate, community volunteer

Reservations for the Symphony Ball are $120 per person and include a sumptuous dinner, prepared by Chef Paul Kwong, an entertaining auction and dancing till midnight.  Guests are invited to bring their own special wine for their tables and the Symphony will pay the corkage fee.

Festivities for the evening will also include an exclusive, pre-Ball reception held in honor of Dr. Dassenko. Friends of Dr. Dassenko who purchase special “Tribute” advertisements in the Symphony Ball program book will receive an invitation to the private reception.

If you would like to contribute your thoughts, congratulations or best wishes to our "Symphony Honors" recipient, please call (805) 543-3533 or email the Symphony for a reply card.
