Now Touring for 4th Graders!
The Music Van is a favorite with kids and teachers alike and now it will be visiting 4th grade classrooms throughout San Luis Obispo County in the spring of 2010.
A Symphony musician will make an inspiring presentation on the instruments of the orchestra – their roles, similarities, and differences – and then give students a chance to try them! Presentations last 45 minutes and up to four may be scheduled in one day.
**Special requirements
It is mandatory that each school provide two adult volunteers per presentation to assists the Music Van presenter. Volunteers are needed to unload the van, pack up the van, set-up, clean-up, and supervise during the sessions. The classroom teacher is also required to stay with the class during the presentation and when children are trying the instruments. Reservations are on a first-come first-served basis. Your school’s PTA will be invited to contribute a voluntary donation of $25 per classroom.
